Who the service is for

DCCS works with people experiencing anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship strain, workplace pressure, addiction concerns and major life changes. You do not need a diagnosis to attend.

What to expect

The first session considers what has brought you to counselling, what is affecting you now and what you would like to change. Together, we agree an appropriate focus and next steps.

How online counselling works

Once your appointment is confirmed, you receive clear information and a private Zoom link. Sessions are normally 50 minutes and take place from a suitable private location.

International Clients

DCCS provides secure online counselling for eligible adult clients located in Ireland, including Northern Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia and selected Canadian provinces.

Services are delivered remotely from the Republic of Ireland. Location, emergency arrangements, clinical suitability and applicable professional requirements are considered before counselling begins.

Important Information

Confidentiality

Sessions are confidential within clearly explained professional and legal limits. These include serious concerns about safety and safeguarding responsibilities.

Clinical suitability

Online counselling is not suitable for every person or difficulty. Suitability, location and local support arrangements are considered before work begins and kept under review.

Emergency limitations

DCCS is not an emergency or crisis service. Immediate help should be sought from emergency services or an appropriate crisis service in your current location.

Online Counselling for Young People

Young people aged 16 and 17 may be accepted following an individual assessment of suitability, consent and safeguarding arrangements.

Where appropriate, an initial parent or guardian consultation may form part of the assessment. Confidentiality and its limits are explained clearly before counselling starts.
