Professional information
Working with GPs and Healthcare Professionals
Collaborative care that supports safe, coordinated and effective psychological treatment.
DCCS values collaborative working with General Practitioners (GPs), psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational health professionals and other healthcare providers where this supports safe, coordinated and effective client care.
With a client's informed consent, DCCS may communicate with their GP or other treating healthcare professionals where clinically appropriate. This may include sharing relevant clinical information, supporting continuity of care, discussing treatment planning and assisting with risk management.
Many people benefit from psychological therapy alongside the care provided by their GP or other healthcare professionals. Collaborative working helps ensure clients receive integrated, person centred care while respecting confidentiality, professional boundaries and data protection requirements.
